The Creative Studio
Reflective arts-based practices
The Practice
The Creative Studio offers gentle, arts-based practices for reflection, connection and meaning-making. This work sits outside therapy and coaching. It is not focused on fixing, treating or analysing, but on creating spaces for listening, noticing and creative enquiry.
Grounded in a belief that creativity is a way of knowing, these practices invite a slower, more attentive way of being with experience - allowing clarity and coherence to emerge in their own time through image, sound, simple art-making and the creative process.
Who This is For
The Creative Studio is for people who:
Are drawn to creative ways of reflecting
Feel like a change from analytical ways of thinking
Want a more spacious way of listening to themselves or their lives
Are already in therapy and want a complementary, non-clinical reflective space
Are curious about image, sound or creative process as a way of making meaning.
No artistic skill or background is needed. These practices are focused on attention and presence, rather than performance.
The Process
This work is held in a calm, respectful and non-interventive way. While emotions may be present and are held with care and respect, the focus is not on emotional or trauma processing, but on reflection, creative enquiry and the gradual unfolding of understanding.
The pace is intentionally unhurried. There is no expectation to perform, to produce anything in particular or to arrive at conclusions. The emphasis is on creating conditions where something can be noticed, shaped or come into view in its own time.

Pathways
The Creative Studio offers several reflective practices, each working with a different medium, but sharing the same attentive, reflective approach.
-

The Collective
A multi-arts reflective practice offered in individual sessions and small groups and series , including the Motherhood Series. This is a quiet, non-interventive space for reflection, creative enquiry and meaning-making across image, sound, simple art-making and writing.
-

Good Room Photography
An image-based reflective practice using everyday photography - often with smartphones - as a way of noticing, witnessing and making meaning. This is not about technique, but about seeing, pausing and reflecting through images, on seasons of life, work and change.
-

Mother Song
A sound-based group practice for mothers and children, centred on voice, music and listening as ways of connecting, being together and exploring presence through shared experience. This is a gentle, relational space for being together through music, not a class or performance setting.
